The Honeydukes Birthday Tea Party!
I should note that a LOT of the ideas and sources used for the party were not originally my own. I took inspiration from hours and hours of Google searches. IE: candy boxes, butterbeer design, certain recipes…etc. When I post these pics on flickr I will be including proper links to the artist and creative souls who made this day so epic and possible. :) Then hopefully you will also be inspired and throw yourself a Harry Potter themed party!

tumblrbot asked: WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
I have read all the books, then seen all the movies and am curently collecting the audio books. But truly, putting on a Harry Potter audio book in my purple boombox and listening away while I catch up on laundry, dishes, baking, etc… Well that just makes my whole day better. Also, for more on the spot of the moment pickmeups, listening to my ipod always lifts my mood. Aside from my favorite music, I also have a wizarding rock playlist and the Harry potter musical and sequel playlist. And how could “Going back to Hogwarts” NOT improve your mood? :D

Our guest got to shop through Diagon Alley before taking the portkey to Honeydukes, and one of the shops was the Owl Emporium. Although instead of owls, Pink Flamingos were being marketed as the hot new wizarding trend! The sign reads: “You’ve tried the rest, now try the best! Adopt a Florida Pink Flamingo as your familiar today!” And each guest got to take home a grow your own flamingo egg toy. :D

I got these butterbeer stencils for glass etching from Chico and Jo’s website, and the glasses from Dollar Tree. Although the butterbeer was so good, maybe I should have went with beer steins? And this was one of the candy tables… The biggest one, but just one of them. :D I say epic success!

The fabulous place settings at the Honeydukes birthday tea party! And a better pic of the pink spiral staircase my hubby built for the party! I’ll be setting up a Flickr account in the next day or so to post all the pics. :D

A picture from my Honeydukes birthday tea party. Yes, that IS a pink spiral staircase in the background my husband built as a prop for the party. I love that man!

A tip from your favorite nurse
(that’d be me)
Always have eggs in your fridge
You just never know when someone will split their head open
Or cut their finger while cooking
And so on
See that membrane there?
While the blood is gushing - hold pressure and crack open an egg
Peel that there membrane off and put it on the wound (continue holding pressure)
The membrane will harden and keep the wound closed until you can get to the ER for stitches
If you even need them that is
Nature: 1, Band aids: 0
You’re welcome.
By the way

Giant Paper Flowers | Green Wedding Shoes
Normally I would think that giant paper flowers were super tacky but I love these as props for your wedding photos! They could even be used in an outdoor wedding - make a few and stick them in the ground around the venue (if you’re allowed) for an Alice In Wonderland-esque Wedding!
